Its been a very long time that anybody has actually updated this page. So yeah, BGCB has been preparing for SYF 2013. They have been given the choice piece last month. Looking at small membership of the band, the maestro have decided to choose a piece that is suitable for small ensemble. I hope that the band will continue to perservere and work hard to achieve better heights.
With regards to alumni band, I do not know when can we actually start our first practice. Everybody seems to be busy. So yeah, for the past months, I have been collecting pieces in my library. If you guys have any suggestions, u could just pvt msg me at my fb. It'll be better if u have the resources or a full set copy of the piece so I can just collate the pieces into my library.

ATTENTION!
Saturday practices will start next Saturday, 22nd January 2010, 8.15am-11.15am.
Pls be punctual and dont' skip saturday practices. Attendance will be taken. Practice hard peoples. Sound check will be on 2nd March 2010!
3 more months to Singapore Youth Festival Cntral Judging of Concert Bands!
Musical exchange in March will be re-confirmed to you guys again at a later date. Tentatively the pre-syf performance will be a week before SYF com. So yeah. Look forward to it! :D

Yesterday was my first time listening to BGCB’s version of Memories of Friendship. There’re a lot of things to work on people!!!!!!!!
Firstly, get your notes and rhythm right. Secondly, work on the phrasing and loudness. Can’t distinguish your mezzo piano, mezzo forte and forte! Flute section don’t play forte when you’re supposed to play mezzo forte. Phrasing for medley is 4 bars then breathe. Lowerwinds/lowerbrass needs to work on the marcato crotchets. Thirdly, band members need to listen to one another. Many intonation problems on the woodwinds. For Oboe,the middle C is most of the time sharp so must change embouchure. Clarinet must play long tones concert Bflat major 1 octave higher.Work on high C. Flutes must be in tune when playing together. Lastly, add color to your playing. Timbre/tone color. Musicality wise also not there yet.
Will see you guys more often. Every Monday and Saturdays. Hope that you guys will practice hard on your parts. Remember what maestro have said today. Improve by stages not on full scale. Remember to play with your heart and soul. (Sounds like “With Heart and Voice” by David Gillingham! Haha. >.<)

to all my juniors whom have scored well for their O’levels. Some got 9/10 points. Others moderato points. Hope that you guys are satisfied with your results but to those whom are not, work hard in tertiary education! Life has to move on.
Charmaine, you did well and i hope that you’ll get into a good course of study. Come to TP if you want to. Can spend more time with you! Haha. Jordan, the 10 pointer boy, congratz. Hope that you'll get into the JC of your choice. Andom, i hope that you’ll get into the course that you wanted to go to. Design gaming or something like that. Alexis, heard that you went to NAFA to continue your studies. BEst wishes and good luck. I couldn’t get to any arts school cause the fees dam ex! >.< Haha

Hey guys,
I would like to congratulate the band on yesterday's performance under the baton of Miss Seah (If i was not wrong). Heard that it went smoothly and was a successful one. Hurray!Bravo!Congrats!You All Did It!Way to go!Great Work! Hope that this time the band will recieve many strings of new recruits of Sec 1s. May the band grow and prosper in the coming days.
